followed instructions, cant get slider to work in News Theme

I cant get the slider to work. I created a category called featured, I tagged two posts as feaured, all I get is a black box where the slider should be on the page.

What am I not doing right?

    Hello

    Your category url should have featured

    Also please make sure you try this with all plugins disabled. The jquery might also be getting clashed with any external plugin.

    Further make sure that all files have been uploaded properly. If you still face any issue, please email us your wordpress admin /pass and ftp to check
